Přinášíme Vám absolutní novinku v české popularizaci a prezentaci archeologie, a tou je archeologický e-learning s názvem Virtuální archeologie!
Virtuální archeologie je součástí webového portálu Archeologie na dosah a vznikla jako e-learningová platforma, jejímž cílem je prezentace a edukace archeologického kulturního dědictví se zaměřením na sbírkové fondy Národního muzea. Sbírkové fondy muzeí jsou totiž velmi bohaté na archeologický materiál. Muzea tak mají vzhledem k tomuto bohatému sbírkovému fondu nesporné předpoklady pro popularizační a prezentační činnost, a to zejména díky autenticitě předmětů, ale i díky svému vzdělávacímu poslání. V Národním muzeu tvoří hmotné doklady pravěku a starověku nedílnou a početnou součást jeho sbírek. Edukační potenciál muzeí, jak v oblasti spolupráce se základními a středními školami, tak v oblasti celoživotního učení, je nutno využívat nejen dosavadními tradičními způsoby pro současnou návštěvnickou veřejnost již poněkud statickými, ale nabídnout také interaktivní formu doplňkového vzdělávání spojenou se zážitky.
Za tímto účelem vznikla i Virtuální archeologie, která má za úkol také testovat poměrně nový způsob prezentace muzejních sbírek ve virtuální podobě. Zábavnou formou se tak snaží zpřístupnit archeologii a její poznatky široké veřejnosti všech věkových kategorií a to, díky online formě, bez geografického omezení. S využitím rozsáhlé sbírky Národního muzea tak podporuje národní a kulturní identitu a přispívá k rozvoji vzdělanosti a rozhledu české veřejnosti.
